I'm really a Mom!

It has been quite some time since I've had a few free moments to blog. Hopefully with me getting a new boss next week; it will take some of the pressure off. I decided to join in on Mama Kat's Writing Prompt this week:

What I know for sure: I'm A Mom!!

If the creation of a 'mommy blog' wasn't enough to solidify my position as a real mom; there are a couple of other things that helped me to realize it:

  • I am constantly taking pictures of every 'cute' thing my daughter does
Reading on the potty. She must get this from her dad...LOL
  • There are always crumbs in my bed and they are not from me
  • I have the stretch marks to prove it.
  • McDonalds is now a must have in my house for dinner
  • I have been to every local festival within a 40 mile radius

  • I've tried breast milk (don't judge me...)
  • I know every Disney sing-a-long created (My favorite is Toy Story "you have a friend in me") Take a listen...
  • I can't take a shower or use the bathroom without being stared at
  • I have a stack of beautiful 'art' created by my daughter at daycare
  • I have to spell out things now when talking to my hubby
  • I'm turning into my mom...

Ha! I relate. My #1 way I know I'm a mom: I drive a minivan. And like it.
My recent post Nutella for Breakfast Sure- Thanks to MommyParties
Every day I realize more and more that I am one. I am one of those moms too that take pictures of there kids doing something cute everyday. The one thing that shocks me the most is when I see younger people dressed a little skanky I'm like oh she shouldn't be wearing that. Where I would have never thought twice before. I just don't want my daughter to dress like that. And I was not a very good example for her in my younger years. No wonder I had so many fightswith my mom about clothes.

My son walks around the house singing that song from Toy Story.

There are always crumbs in my bed too and I know that I do not put them there.
Hmmm I realized it when I stopped noticing how many days had passed since I had showered :O)

I love this, and I'm not a mom. At least not of a human. I am a mom of a sweet little bichon, and just with what I do for her makes me have complete respect for all of you moms of little people out there.
It is so hard to pick just one! How about McDonald's is a part of your life and you know where every one is located within a 50 mile radius, not just for the food, but also for the potties!!!
Like Shell I also love my minivan - I know total Mom Geek!!
According to your standards I am a real mom too!! Yay for me. Ever single bullet I was able to cross off. I swear our kids go into our room and eat animal crackers in bed while we are making dinner. It seems like there are always crumbs and animal body parts in our bed.

It really started to sink in that I was a mom when I would open the freezer and there was more breast milk in there than anything else. Or maybe when I realized that I had all of the best/cleanest gas stations to stop at along I-70 from St. Louis to Kansas City figured out. Nobody wants to take a child who is potty training on a road trip, but unfortunately we had to several times as the kids were growing up.
